Hi Patty I'm brewing a Coopers European lager started it on Sunday so it's a waiting game now, and unfortunately I'm not known for an over abundance of patience!
Hi Craig, It is always well worth the wait with home brew. My favorite is the Simply Ginger beer using Muntons beer enhancer instead of sugar, bottling some today!
Hi everyone, my name is Andy and i'm fairly new to home-brew. I've done a barrel of Festival pilgrims hope which didn't turn out too well. It had a very strange after taste, maybe it got too hot whilst fermenting? Also done a 30 bottle connoisseur merlot wine kit - lovely!
Hello my name is dan. I'm rather new to the brewing game. I've bought lots of equipment so far. I've brewed a coopers English bitter which I am over the moon with how it turned out. Also brewed a munstons pilsner. I just opened one and it taste fine but didn't really get any head on it. and also in the middle of brewing some hard apple cider and and 30 bottle red wine kit I've got the right bug for this now turned my celler at home into a brewery hahaha
Hey patty. yea I kitted it out so it's really handy. all that's left is to get some sort of heater down there for the winter coz it get cold down there in winter lol. I have got brew belts but ill still get a little heater just to be on the safe side
A heater will take the general chill away and the bets should then do the rest. We brew in our kitchen and keep it there till bottled. Then it sits in our cubby hole till ready to drink! I drink alcoholic Ginger beer hubby drinks Bitter.
It depends on the wine, if using a refill ingredients then the instructions will usually say, if making your own and the recipe doesn't say then it is usually done as and when needed and before adding the finings if using them
Hello! Jordo here, currently brewing my third home brew. First was a dark ale, second a stout that has been bottled almost a month and currently have an IPA in the barrel (I'll be taking the first reading later on).
Loving the process and having a science experiment on the go in my back bedroom (plus all the good beer at the end!)
Hi all fellow brewers. I've been brewing for a couple of years now, mainly been using coopers kits, plus I've done a couple of St Peters Cream Stout, which is by far my favourite so far. I've also done a festival Golden Stag (or is it Summer Stag) I can't remember now, this comes a very close second. I've also done a couple of John Bull kits which I had no success with at all.
I've just made my first purchase from HBO and ordered Brewform Christmas dark Belgium, Festival Belgium Dubbel and Milestone Donner and Blitzed. I've just realised as I've typed this I've ordered two Belgium beers and not brewed them before. I hope I like them. Looking forward to getting them and hopefully have them ready for Christmas.
Howdy brewers! Just wanted to sign in. I'm a new member of this forum and new to home brewing. Decided to follow my passion for beer and start brewing it myself. I'm on my second kit now, first was St. Peter's Golden Ale, which turned out alright, and now fermenting is the American Beers American IPA. I'm a big fan of hoppy beers, and the IPA is one of my favourites. I have also planted a few hop plants of my own, so going to move on to malt extract brewing pretty soon, and maybe even all grain when the harvest comes in.
Looking forward to embarking on this journey, shout out to all fellow brewers down here in Kent!
Hi everyone. New to homebrewing and am getting equipment together and reading as much as possible before I start. Any pearls of wisdom will be greatly appreciated!
Welcome, the main thing we find it to get the best quality ingredients you can to achieve the best results, and be patient to allow them to ferment fully and for the flavours to develop fully too once bottled. With the first brew it takes a little longer as you get used to the process, but it really is quite easy and the results well worth it

Be prepared for plenty of dumb questions
Been brewing for a couple of years now, mostly kits, but have just moved to malt extract recipes.
Hoping for lots of advice
