The new Youngs range is proving quite popular and all the feedback is excellent, they are all quite strong in alcohol strength so they be ones to savour. We were lucky enough to be sent some samples of the American Oaked Rum Ale and had a tasting, because it was quite strong flavours and you could definitely taste the spirit coming through it was not to everyone's taste but the general feeling was that it was very good, and something very different to other kits available. At least one or two people here will be making a batch of it, the quality was excellent, so if you want something a bit different, plenty of strength and flavour, with a slightly unusual spirit kick to it then we recommend this one, if you do make it we would love to hear what you think to it too
Because it will come out round 5.4% when finished which is quite strong for many beers, the initial reading will be higher than many beers which tend to be lower at around 4 to 4.5% so will start a bit lower,
the American pale ale was very good , I used to be a larger drinker , but homebrew as converted me to more hoppy ales like IPA American pale ale , golden ales
