Wierd but cool looking yeast formations

So I have just opening up the primary fermentation bucket to haev a look and transfer to the barrell. Opened it up and saw this.

What is it you are brewing and with which yeast? Are you noticing any unusual smell with it whilst it ferments?

If the brew has fouled, how noticable is the smell?

I did wonder also. That had been in 3 weeks. The liquid under seemed pretty normal, smelled and looked normal etc. I certainly didnt get any obvious vinigary smell when I opened it.

I will be a little careful with the first pint of it once I have conditioned it.

The yeast formation on top you see can really vary, if it had spoiled it usually smells very strongly of vinegar and also would taste of it too. Everything seems OK but so you should be OK to bottle it as usual and leave it to condition

Good news. Just drawn my first pint off this one (kegged this one) and seems to taste, smell and look ok.
