I just purchased a pressure barrel from you and have never used one before and don't know what I'm doing! I have 40 pints of kit cider on the go how do I use the barrel? There are no instructions with the purchase! Please help
Instructions have been sent by email, but there are a few points to check on this link below. It is important to make sure the barrel is well cleaned, and then the brew can be transferred into your barrel and primed with sugar which is what will produce the carbonation. Make sure everything is nice and tight, check the tap and the lid to make sure it seals well, store it away from UV light and the brew shoudl condition nicely and clear in a few weeks time;
As a guide people tend to use around 100g or so of sugar to prime the barrel, sometimes the ingredients specify although in some cases they just refer to bottles rather than barrels
