Wine lacks body

My first wine kit, Beaverdale Rioja, has finished and been bottled. However, I feel that the wine seems to lack body, it tastes great, just a bit on the lightweight side if you know what I mean? I am wondering have I gone wrong somewhere or is this something that will develop with age? Or is it a caracteristic of the kit?

You will often find that the flavours and body will continue to improve and develop if left in the bottles for a while, depending on how long it has been bottled it may be worth leaving it somewhere dark and cool for a while and taste it again
