Lively Brew

Having now waited 6 weeks for my first brew and about to consume I find when drawing from the Keg the brew is VERY frothy and has to be drawn in small amounts and allowed to settle.Anything I can do ?. Would releasing a bit of pressure from the top cap help ?. There has been no extra gas added.

Thanks.

This often happens for the first pint or so, and is due to the excess pressure, it will reduce as you drink the contents. If it is a real problem the you could release a little pressure, but too much and it will let air in and slow the flow of beer from the tap. On the plus side, you don't need to buy any CO2. If it is being kept somewhere warm, moving it somewhere a little cooler may reduce this
