Bottle Washer

I purchased a bottle washer and some starsan to speed up my sterilising process. It worked great for 30 wine bottles and really made the whole process rapid (compared to using chlorine).

However I have noticed a problem with 500ml PET bottles in that they slip over the little catches and therefore doesn't push the springs down!

Tonight I think I have come up with a solution - take a new crown cap that has not been used, drill a hole through it, place it over the spray spout and press the PET bottle down.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and come up with a solution?

Will let you all know how my plan works tomorrow when I try it out because tomorrow is bottling day for my Ultimate Brewery Classics Golden Strawberry Blonde!!

We have heard that it helps to keep the bottles to one side to push it down, but if it wont work with them we would be grateful if you update us, and we'll amend the listing to make it clear. The Ultimate Brewery range is great, we've not sampled the strawberry blonde as it is very new, so let us know how that goes wont you! Cheers

Have just finished bottling and you were correct about putting the bottles on at an angle, works fine. Just the long wait for the beer to condition now...

That's good news, thans for the update. Hopefully it wont take too long, we'd love to hear how it turns ou with it being a new one we haven't tried, it certainly has been quite popular, but the whole range is of a great quality
