Hi, I want to dry hop my next brew, but I don't want to infect the brew. How do I ensure the muslin is sterile? I have an electric bottle steriliser would that work? Any advise on this subject would be appreciated. Cheers
You can add hops but without using muslin, although it will create more sediment and perhaps make syphoning over more difficult, as they are not contained. If you put them in already in a piece of muslin it will make them easier to remove before syphoning, the muslin can be washed in clean hot water and with a steriliser if needed, although usually hot water is sufficient. Some hops come in teabags so they are already contained, and are nice and easy, these ones come in 20g bags and are the best value, available in several styles;
