As a first time Wine brewer and ready to bottle first batch,is it OK to use wine bottles with a threaded neck for corking? Sorry if this seems an elementary question.

Depending on the bottles, you may well find that the necks are smalle and corks wont fit, but try it and see if they do. Most standard corks are 22mm in diameter to fit standard bottles. You can always try resealing them with the screw caps if not, as long as they make an airtight seal
