Help please.

Hi, I started 2 wines off yesterday, both california connoisseur, 1 red, 1 white. The red is fermenting nicely however the white is doing nothing, I really mean nothing! its flat and not fermenting what so ever. Its running at 24C so warm enough. Anyone got any tips?

Is it definitely not doing anything? Have you checked this with a hydrometer? If the hydro reading has dropped by even the slightest then something is happening. Might also do no harm to give the white a good old stir to get things going?

Thanks. I think I worked out the problem. My husband carried it out of the kitchen after we put the yeast in, so a lot of the yeast had gone and stuck to the side of the canister rather than in it. I have not swilled it all back down and mixed it up. I recon by tomorrow it will be fermenting. Thanks for your help,

lol that could well be it, make sure you get all the yeast in as it needs that specific amount of yeast to turn out correct

Yes thank you. I seem to do something stupid with every brew, but at least its something different each time and not the same mistakes!! LOL. I will master this by the time I have done a few more!!
