I would like to know how much priming sugar to use with my woodfordes admirals ale kit.
I will be using a pressure barrel, this kit makes 32 pints, the instructions say not to use more than 100 grames, is this to much. I've heard that about 65 grames would be better.

THANKS

There is no definite right answer here, if putting in a pressure barrel then with a 32 pint brew then 65 to 80 grammes will be fine, you want it to produce enough CO2 as it secondary ferments. 100 grammes will not do it any harm, but may carbonate it more, any excess pressure and the barrel will automatically release it through it's saftey vent if needed.

As a general rule of thumb I have always opted for using 85g of sugar which I then dissolve in to 200ml of boiling water. After allowing to cool, I then add the solution to the barrel add my brew and gently mix. It has always worked well for me . Hope this helps.
