Can anybody comment on Munton's Premier kit.Seems very expensive compared to other kits available, is it worth the difference in price?

Do you mean kits like the Gold range, and Smugglers, Midas, etc? The larger 3kg kits have more ingredients and should give improved results, but when looking at the top end of kits you do have a good choice so take a look. We recommend the new 'Ultimate Brewery' range which has some of the best ingredients out there, they are different to all other kits, and you may like to consider the Festival range too, these are truly 'complete' ingredients kits, including all the priming sugars, hop pellets, etc, and with the stronger kit ssuch as the Suffolk they are the same price but rater unusually make the full 40 pints - they have increased the ingredients to 4kgs instead of the usual 3kgs.

For best results with beer kits you're best to be add a brew enhancer to the cheaper 1 tin ones, so by the time you've taken into account the cost of this, the premium kits are not much more and need no enhancers or sugars adding to them

We've made the Autumn Blush here and it was very good, plenty of taste and good depth of flavour, the extra cost is due to the amount of ingredients supplied. With most other cider kits you get only half the amount of ingredients, and the rest you then make up with sugar, this will then often result in less flavour and they can sometimes taste a bit more 'watery' - the extra ingredients included in the Autumn Blush is a bit like adding a brew enhancer to a beer kit instead of sugar - it will increase the body of the brew and improve the flavour
