what weight pet bottles are ok for storing homebrew. i ask as my wife has access to millions of pet bottles used for fruit squash.

The most important thing is that they are capable of withstanding the pressure of carbonated drinks. As a general guide any bottles which have had a fizzy drink in before are suitable, those which haven't may not be suitable as they are often not intended to withstand pressure. If in doubt it would be wise to test one, and then proceed with caution, storing somewhere where damage would not occur if the bottles failed
