bitter brew

Hi ive been making victorian bitter using beer enhanser the fermentation has stopped a few days ago but the hydrometer is constant for 48 hours at 1008,on the tin it says not to bottle untill 1006 or lower. Do i bottle it anyway or add more sugar or leave it for a day or 2

    If it is at the recommended brewing temperature give it another day or so and check the readings, it may well drop a little further, but you are very close, so if it just will not go any lower and all signs of small bubbles rising to the surface of the liquid are completely gone, then it will be fine to go ahead and bottle. Occasionally a brew will just not quite get there, often temperature related, but as it is so close you will be fine. One reason to wait is that you don't want any excess pressure to be created in bottles, although if using a barrel the vent cap will ensure there are no problems as it releases any excess pressure if needed. With this low reading you wont have a problem though as long as you're sure it's finished fermenting
