Hi, I am going to give Coopers Ginger Beer a go for the first time. Does anyone have any experience of improving the recipe by adding root ginger? Also can it second ferment and condition in my pressure keg or will I need to bottle it?
We've made the Coopers Ginger beer a couple of times and it is great, especially if you leave it in the bottles for a few more weeks to improve. We didn't add any root ginger though so can't comment on that, you certainly could experiment with it though. There is no reason why you couldn't transfer it to your barrel rather than bottles, it may take a little longer to condition, but you could do either to suit your preference. Just bear in mind if you like it chilled like we do, it is easiest to chill in bottles as they can be popped in the fridge
