If using a Cornelius Keg and force carbonating with CO2 then secondary fermentation is not needed, you just need to try and get the brew as clear as possible, sometimes people use finings to help with this. The brew can then be carbonated under pressure in the keg. However this is not to be confused with using a standard pressure barrel which you can inject CO2 in to, but it will not force carbonate in the same way. Standard barrels need the sugar to be adding into them to add the carbonation
