when my beer finishes fermenting .do i bottle straigh away or transfer it to a nother vessel with finings to let it clear . is it a good think to add a spoon of suger or spray malt to bottles before i fill them up ?
When it finishes fermenting you can go ahead and bottle it straightaway, if you had another vessel you could transfer it to then this will help more sedminet settle out of it, and it can be bottled from there after a couple of days. Using finings is often not needed with beer kits, but it will help to improve the clarity of the brew and reduce sediment. The trick is to syphon over carefully and leave as much sediment behind without disturbing it, we highy recommend a 'little bottler' if bottling as it is so easy and quick and is in many of our starter kits for that reason;
You need to prime the bottles with either sugar or spraymalt, the amount depends on how fizzy you want it, as a rough guide a teaspoon for beer and a heaped teaspoon for lager per 500ml bottle. It is often added before you fill the bottles but can be added afterwards, then seal them up and leave somewhere warm for a week, then move somewhere a little cooler to clear and condition for a few weeks
