Hi All, fermenting 5 gal of grand cru with added spraymalt on top of the brewing sugar and its took off like a rocket in hours and the SG was 1082 took a hydrometer reading a hour ago day 2 and its reading 1043 is that normal ?
The spraymalt will increase the alcohol content if added in addition to the specified amount of sugar as it will ferment in the same way. As long as the hydrometer readings keep getting lower it's going in the right direction, and with your first and very last hydrometer reading you will be able to calculate the approximate alcohol content
