Sterilising Bottles

Sorry to be a pain again but what’s your thoughts on washing and sterilising bottles in the dishwasher?  Could I wash them then run them through the dishwasher without any detergent then when the dishwasher goes through it drying cycle would this steam them enough to sterilise them?  Or should I stop being lazy and do it by hand?

It depends on the bottles, with many PET plastic bottles they cannot withstand the heat and will distort if the dishwasher is too hot, so if planning to do it test one first! As long as they get clean it doesn't matter how you do it, if filling your fermenting vessel with a sterilising solution this is often a good time to do the bottles too, as they can be cleaned in the vessel and then rinsed out, so you use just one batch of warm water and steriliser to do it all
