im brewing a larger

i added the kit and when i was topping my barrel up with cold water it started to foam up really bad, the barrel was clean and had no cleaning products left behind. i waited for it to settle only minute or two then added the yeast. i popped the lid on but it looks like some of the yeast is stuck on the lid. will this do anything to my beer or am i ok?

It can foam up when adding the water, slowing the flow of water will minimise it, and then leaving it to settle for a few minutes as you did will help. The yeast can then be sprinkled on, but will work best if in contact with the liquid rather than just the froth, a gentle stir to mix it in will help, so just give it a little stir with something such as a long spoon, but make sure it is well cleaned and sterilised, just to be sure the ferment gets off to a good start
