i have read the instructions on the finlandia cider range and it seems to say 800g for starting fermentation is this right ? cos looking at how much sugar it seems a lot ?
For the initial fermentation in your vessel you can add 800g of sugar and this will make the finished cider around 4.2% if made to 23 litres. It is usual with one tin kits for cider, beer and lager, to add around 1kg of sugar or brew enhancer, although with the premium 3kg kits any sugars needed are included, you just need a little to prime your bottles or keg once ready to transfer
