    There are a couple of things to check which might explain why it was flat;

    - Not enough priming sugar/carbonation drops - try 2 per 500ml bottle as a general guide for good carbonation (or 4 per 1 litre bottle)
    - Faulty bottle seals, or caps not tight enough and a seal has not been made
    - Sterilising solution has not been fully rinsed from the bottles and has contaminated the brew - they need to be well rinsed out
    - The bottles could be being stored at too low a temperature for the secondary fermentation stage, this would stop the process

    See if any of these might apply, as whilst it would definitely benefit from being left longer to fully carbonate and improve in flavour, you would expect some carbonation after 10 days
