Brewing a beer kit in 2 batches?

The Muntons Premium Gold Beer Kit has 2 cans of extract. I would like to brew the beer in 2 separate batches, weeks apart!! How long does the yeast stay alive once opened? Can I order more yeast separately? Thanks.

Generally you would brew the whole 40 pints at the same time for convenience, bottling some if it needed to be kept longer, the beer will improve if bottled and left. If you would prefer to do 2 batches of 20 pints you would need another sachet of yeast as when opened it should be used straight away.

If you require extra yeast you would ideally go for one of the following:
Muntons Premium Gold Yeast
Youngs Ale Yeast

Storage of yeast should be away from heat, damp and sunlight.
