cant get 20-22 degrees

evening folks,so i got all the gear make a brew,ive made loadsa beers over the years so i know how to make a canny pint.i live in different house from last time i made beer n cant get temp anywhere near 20-22 highest i can get is 16,so if i set a brew away at 16 degrees room temp how many days will it take to ferment ?.cheers

Longer, and 16c is about the lower end of the temp range for brewing? Have you thought about investing in a heater?

yea ill look into a heater thanks,is the heater left on constant whilst brew is in fermenting stage ?

i was looking on ebay and you can get heater belt from china 3 pound 50p what ya recon worth a go ?

i wouldnt try china electrical , i use the brew belt that york home brew sell and it works good if its cold i switch it on few hours at bottom of bin and heats up quicker then slide up to half way and leave it usually maintains a steady temp worth £20

ok mate thanks,i cant even get 14 degrees in this house,i might just wait till warmer weather comes

i bet if you got brew belt and put it around bottom of fermenter it would increase good , but ye better when warmer so no need for electric belt then its cheeper
