How do people mark or label their beer bottles? I definitely do not want to be scraping labels off bottles but do want to able to mark or colour code various batches so I know which is which.
Hi Tom_B, there are a couple of common methods, you can use different colour crown caps if bottling with metal caps, write on them with a marker pen that will then scrub off, or we have these great labels that are ideal and can be peeled off without leaving bits and a sticky residue:
The labels can also be written on with a marker pen, and then you can use some isopropyl alcohol to clean off the marker and get ready for the next batch, re-using them rather than having to remove and throw away each time
I read about sticking the labels on with milk. I did try with mixed success, some stayed on and other fell off. The ones that did stay stuck on came off easily without leaving marks. My next brew im going to try using Removable Adhesive Labels and run them through the printer at work.
wow - they look super cool @Goffski - Having thought about this I realised that I just needed to be able to tell one batch from another and so my current solution is loom bands -- cheap and not particularly beautiful and certainly not as stylish as yours, but they do work well.
