Aquarium Heaters for Winter Worts

Has anyone tried using one of these to keep their brewing beer warm? I was looking around at the different options for keeping it warm during the winter months and as usual ended up on some American websites. Some people had put their beer in its usual container and then placed the whole thing in a bigger container (like a small dustbin) which had room to put a few litres of water in and so surrounding the original brew bin with water heated by an aquarium heater. Amazon do 25 watt aquarium heaters for about £11. Any pros or cons to this?
