Hi I'm just in the process of making my first brew ( a lager that'll take 3 months to finnish) and am wanting a quick turnaround beer for my next project. I would prefer a bitter that I can barrel. Any suggestions? Cheers.
Many of the bitter ingredients take a similar minimum time, as quick as any would be something like the Coopers English Bitter, or perhaps the Real Ale:
For best results use a Brew Enhancer or Spraymalt, but you can just add ordinary white sugar. If speed is important then try to brew at the suggested temperature as this will help it to ferment quickly, and once in the barrel keep it warm for the first few days to help the priming sugar to dissolve and ferment too
I can recommend Coopers Real ale, its part of my std stock of beer that I brew as everyone likes it, but I would use Brew enhancer, as you get more depth of flavour !
