first brew is it ready?

I took starting reading as 1.060 and now its settled at 1.032 giving me 3.6% abv but it should be 5% I followed all the instructions should I wait longer? Its been 1.032 for 48hrs

What is it you're brewing, 1.032 does still sound quite high and would usually be lower than this. If the fermentation has stopped or slowed it generally helps to keep the temperature in the early 20 degrees C range, and give it a stir to re-suspend the yeast and it should drop lower - the instructions may give a hydrometer final gravity reading to aim for
