Tight Seal on Fermentation Vessel

TrevTheBevTrevTheBev Member Posts: 13
I have successfully brewed 2 kits from in the past couple of months [But still to taste them].
My question is this however :-
The fermentation vessel I am using is one that my son gave me as he now doesn't have time to brew. The lid does not form a 100% seal on it therefore there are no bubbles coming out the airlock at the top. I think it's maybe been caused by washing it in hot water in the past.

Can anybody please advise if this is a problem, is it ok the carry on as I am doing or would I be better buying a new vessel with a tight seal on it ?
