Hi. Does anyone have experience with this kit or similar? I want to prime in the bottle, but not sure how much sugar to add? It comes with a pouch of priming sugar, but instructions state to add this to the brew in a second fv, which I can't be arsed with if I'm honest!

We know what you mean, if bottling and want to prime directly in the bottles then as a guide use a level teaspoon of sugar per 500ml bottle, this will give a medium carbonation, if you want it quite carbonated then up to a heaped teaspoon per 500ml bottle

I'll be sure to let you know. It's brewing in the outhouse, so I've got the heat belt and heat mat on the go as well as a fleece and some polystyrene around it. It's about 26c but I would've liked to of got it a tad higher.

Mine only went about 24-26c and it was fine.

It's showing about 28c now. I'm happy with that. Airlock still bubbling away nicely nearly a week in.

Just cracked my first bottle. Left it to breathe for 10mins after taking my first sip. I'm glad I only put the hops in for the last couple of days as it's very hoppy as it is. I reckon it probably needs another week on the bottle.

It's very nice though! I usually just make lager but wanted to try something a little different. I feel this sits nicely between a lager and an ale.

From experience, I find the Young's American kits do clear pretty quickly, but they ideally need about 3 weeks minimum.

Unlike Bulldog brews, although I also love those, they take bloody ages to clear, really at least 8 weeks, ideally 12+
