Black Rock Craft - New Zealand Bitter (+ 100g Sterling Hops)

As this was on offer I gave it a go and also added 100g of the Charles Farm Hop pellets, in this instance Sterling Hops 3 days before bottling.

Must admit considering the price (even with the hops) I am very impressed.

Very drinkable clear but dark brown ale. I cannot comment on the kit on its own as I have never tried it vanilla so to speak, but with the added hops its nice and floral with a mild hoppy taste but at the same time that taste of a bitter, but a very clean tasting bitterness.

Some of the premium kits are better, but you will pay more for those so this is a good value choice.

The Black Rock range do tend to get good feedback, and seem good especially for the price. Adding some Sterling hops to tweak it was a great idea, sounds like it made a good difference too
