There are a few good stouts if making from extract kits, the Brewmaker Velvet stout was great when we made it, and if you use a Kg of enhancer rather than sugar it will give it even more body and flavour:
i made one before was expensive 1 and it tasted like coild black coffee lol.id like to know how to make creamy thick body beer aswell, mine tasttes ok but lacks thickness
The quality of the finished stout will be partly down to the ingredients used, the better and premium refills have more malt extract and it is usually a better quality. If making the 1 tin/pouch refills which require a Kg of sugar adding, instead add either 1Kg of dark SprayMalt, or not quite as good but you can use Brew Enhancer, and this will give the finished stout more body, flavour, head and mouthfeel. The spray dried malt is adding more malt rather than just sugar, so the results are improved.
The premium refills that come with either 2 tins or pouches of malt extract have double the amount of malt extract to begin with (and sometimes even more), rather than needing to add other fermentable sugars such as sugar or spraymalt, so the flavours are fuller and improved
for the brewmaker kit i was thinking of using 500g extra dark spray malt with 1kg brewing sugar what do you think also do i use sugar drops when bottling or not for this type cheers
If made using 500g of Spraymalt and 1Kg of sugar, this will give it more flavour, and also more alcohol strength as you will be using me fermentable sugars. It is personal preference but as Tolemac says often 1 drop per 500ml bottle is good for stouts and darker beers, or a level teaspoon of sugar per 500ml bottle, this will give it some light carbonation and pressurise the bottles, giving a little life and head to the stout when you pour it

Another good one with good reviews is the Coopers Irish Stout when made as a bundle:
